Broadcasting (frequency and wavelength)

I work with radio and television in my job, and I also use both media regularly at home. I often wonder the mathematics behind sending a broadcast frequency out to users, and according to ThinkQuest.org, frequencies (of alternating current) must be converted to wavelengths (the distance a radio signal travels) and vice-versa. “This is needed to properly design the antennas that make broadcasting of signals possible.”
